      Satpal A:
We have started our journey with a new speech therapist and within 1 day we could see difference.

My brother has started singing the national anthem and other famous patriotic songs in an almost audible tone and some words are exactly as they should be.

This therapist taps on his legs n asks my brother to do the same and then he sings along with the tapping. They kinda sing in a duet.

The tapping helps in concentration without tapping, he cannot sing.
      Without singing he cannot talk.

But as the therapist says, this is a start.

He had severe aphasia and spoke only 2 words jaeeee and bhaeeee.

Now in 3 days he is saying bharat bhagyavidhata and other difficult words.

It will be an year now in a few months time but this improvement was phenomenal.

You can try this at home and see the results.

It is called melodic intonation therapy or MIT.

      Hardeep Sodhi:
MIT is well known. Glad you found a therapist who thought of practicing same.
For all, here a good write-up on same :
