In August 2019, Indian Directorate General of Health Services ( under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) published, as part of National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases & Stroke (NPCDCS), a detailed ( about 100 pages ) guide titled as above.
The Guide was prepared after taking several contributions from the medical profession and gives information about risk factors of stroke, its symptoms and pre/post stroke measures. Besides, it has a host of suggestions as to how stroke prevention and management can be planned and integrated in the Indian health services.
Please download the document from here.
On the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare site, you can find it here.
What is the view from the Stroke Warrior’s perspective ? What has been your experience either in a private or a government hospital ? What post stroke advise and help have you received from any Government entity ? Which is your nearest Government stroke ready hospital and have you had any experience of that ? Anything in the Document that you found new / useful ?
