Just do it

“You just do it. You force yourself to get up. You force yourself to put one foot before the other, and God damn it, you refuse to let it get to you. You fight. You cry. You curse. Then you go about the business of living. That’s how I’ve done it. There’s no other way.”
Just do it

“You just do it. You force yourself to get up. You force yourself to put one foot before the other, and God damn it, you refuse to let it get to you. You fight. You cry. You curse. Then you go about the business of living. That’s how I’ve done it. There’s no other way.”

Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor the Hollywood icon had a very varied – and tough health history with a plethora of problems. She was born with Scoliosis, survived a near-fatal bout of pneumonia, nearly blinded at age 21 and a host of other issues.

After Taylor suffered a seizure and a stroke, doctors discovered and successfully removed a benign brain tumor in 1997. While posing on cover of Life magazine thereafter, she said “The ups and downs, the problems and stress, along with all the happiness, have given me optimism and hope because I am living proof of survival,” she once said. “I’ve come through things that would have felled an ox.”

She just did it. There is an inspiration there for all stroke survivors – whatever you can, just do it ! Even if it seems too little today, all those steps will add, and one day that limb will be in your control again. Those words that seem to difficult to speak today, will form and be heard!

Just do it!
